The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe

The Parliamentary Assembly is the engine of the Council of Europe’s activities in the field of standard setting and supervision of compliance. The Assembly plays an important role in the Council of Europe, given its authority to speak and issue recommendations on every aspect of the Council’s mandate. In this report the AIV seeks to highlight this fact and formulates a number of recommendations aimed at further enhancing the Assembly’s role.
