The Council of Europe: Less can be More

The AIV believes that in the future the Council of Europe will continue to offer significant added value and play a unifying role. To do so, however, the broad range of the Council’s activities and the way in which they are carried out will need to be systematically reviewed. The Council should focus on its core tasks. Through active efforts during its Presidency the Netherlands can and should help raise the organisation’s profile and enhance its effectiveness.
