The Dutch Government’s Presence Abroad

In recent years the Netherlands’ presence abroad has been affected by substantial spending cuts. Both the number of missions and the number of personnel who staff them have shrunk. The size and strength of the network of missions have declined. At least €70-80 million will be needed on a structural basis to tackle the most urgent problems concerning the government’s presence abroad.
