Reforms in the Arab Region: Prospects for Democracy and the Rule of Law?

In ‘Reforms in the Arab Region’ the AIV argues that reforms in this region will benefit from rapid and substantive support for civil society. Particularly in Tunisia, Egypt and Morocco there is now a window of opportunity to achieve positive social change. The Netherlands can help the Arab Spring succeed by specifically supporting civil society organisations such as unions and human rights groups.
