The Human Rights Policy of the Dutch Government: Identifying Constants in a Changing World
In this report, the AIV examines how the government shapes its foreign policy in the constantly changing international context and what place it assigns to international law, especially in the field of human rights. Tensions within society – at global as well as national level – may all too easily foster the erosion of international law and the international legal order. Upholding and strengthening these cornerstones of the international system is vital, especially for a country like the Netherlands.
