NATO’s New Strategic Concept

In this advisory report the AIV argues that NATO needs to prioritise political dialogue between the US and Europe. A broad political dialogue is required on a wide range of security risks, from weapons of mass destruction and interstate conflicts to terrorism, piracy and conflicts involving energy and natural resources. The Alliance should also set stricter criteria with respect to the decision-making process on NATO operations out of area.
