Demographic Changes and Development Cooperation

Together with climate change, demographic changes will be among the greatest challenges facing humanity in the 21st century. The AIV believes that far more attention should be focused both nationally and internationally on how demographic trends relate to economic growth and sustainable development, peace and security, scarcity, energy consumption, the environment, migration and mobility, and human dignity. The AIV recommends the appointment of an Ambassador for Population Issues and Sustainable Development.
