Cooperation Between the European Union and Russia: A Matter of Mutual Interest

According to this advisory report, which was drawn up at the Senate’s request, in the coming years Russian policy will be characterised by assertiveness, based on the country’s rediscovered confidence as a major global power. Russia will openly pursue its own economic and geopolitical interests. In areas where Russia and the European Union have shared interests, Russia will – simultaneously – adopt a constructive approach and be willing to embrace cooperation.
