The Functioning of the United Nations Commission on Human Rights

In this advisory report on the working methods and functioning of the United Nations Commission on Human Rights, the AIV discusses whether country and thematic resolutions are still appropriate instruments for ensuring observance of human rights. It also considers the extent to which the debate on the implementation of economic, social and cultural rights should be conducted primarily in the specialised agencies, and examines the role and functioning of NGOs.
